Why Wenix Doesn't Sell "App-Only" as a Separate Tier
A mobile app needs a backend to talk to — accounts, data, and business logic all have to live somewhere. Building the app without the platform behind it doesn't remove that cost, it just moves it: you'd still need the same backend engineering, either built by us or by someone else you now have to coordinate with. Pricing the app and platform together keeps the architecture consistent and the responsibility for the whole system in one place.
What Drives Mobile App Development Cost
The same factors that drive web platform cost apply to the app: authentication, payments, and real-time features each add engineering work. Push notifications, offline support, and device features like camera or location access add scope specific to mobile. Building for both iOS and Android at once costs more than one platform alone, but reaches the whole market rather than half of it.
